about Terra Sophia

Terra Sophia was born of a desire to re-ignite the embers of connection between people and plants.

Cyclical offerings are an invitation to infuse plant spirit into rituals of self-love and care. All herbal creations are crafted in small batches, consciously and ceremoniously.

Opening our hearts to Terra Sophia, the wisdom of the land, is a vital part of the path towards increased collective intimacy with the more-than-human world and each other.

about me

My name is Sophia Love. I am an herbalist, gardener, artist using paint, wax, thread, dye & wool, walker on the path as a Guardian of Birth, and a forever student of the plants. My devotion lies in multi-dimensional realms of healing with a focus on womb and breast health, birthkeeping, and menstrual cycle awareness.

Terra Sophia is the basket into which my herbal and creative offerings are lovingly kept. I hope that the love, faith and reverence poured into these creations are felt, and play a role in your daily rituals of self-care and tenderness.

about apothecary ingredients

Everything is energy. What we put on our largest organ, the skin, matters. I’m in loving commitment to finding the most beautiful, local, and ethically-sourced ingredients.

  • The plants are either wild-foraged or grown beyond-organically in my garden at the foothills of the Pyrénées - harvested always with deep reverence and in synch with cyclical rhythms.

  • Organic, cold-pressed oils are sourced directly from farms in France or Catalyuna (just on the other side of the mountains) whenever possible, so as to pay reverence to the plants that grow in this region of the world (olive, sunflower, hemp, apricot) and support the people who tend the land.

Oils & butters (such as coconut or shea) that inevitably grow in more distant lands are only sourced with cooperatives who share Terra Sophia's values of transparency and ethics so as to play our small role in dismantling systems of colonial exploitation.

  • The vast majority of organic essential oils are sourced in France, directly from local farms and distilleries.

Beautiful resins and essential oils of Frankincense and Myrrh are sourced directly via Beeyo Maal Cooperative in Somaliland.
